			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Figuring out how to &#8220;go raw&#8221; can seem really overwhelming and virtually impossible, but it is really quite simple. So many people get caught up on what they can&#8217;t have if they improve their diet. &#8220;I won&#8217;t be able to have this.&#8221; &#8220;I can&#8217;t eat that any more.&#8221; &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t live without that!&#8221;<br />
I&#8217;m here to tell you that changing your daily eating pattern doesn&#8217;t have to be about what you can&#8217;t have. Make it about what you want to have.<br />
Start focusing on what you want to add, not what you&#8217;ll be taking away. Remember, it&#8217;s as easy as simple addition: 1+1=2. What&#8217;s one thing you can add to your daily eating routine today to improve your diet? If you haven&#8217;t already, I recommend starting with green smoothies.<br />
So starting today, add a green smoothie to your daily eating routine. You don&#8217;t have to not eat anything, you just get to add in a 20-30 oz green smoothie.<br />
Once you&#8217;ve got the smoothie routine down and you&#8217;re used to having one daily for breakfast or lunch, add in 1 more thing. Something like 20-30 ounces of fresh vegetable juice every day? In time, you&#8217;ll be drinking a smoothie every morning at breakfast, veggie juice for lunch, and how about once again adding 1 more thing such as a large green salad with dinner every night?<br />
So here you are, a month from now consuming these three new items you&#8217;ve added to your daily eating routine: green smoothie, fresh veggie juice, and large green salad. Maybe you&#8217;ve even decided to throw in the customary 1 apple a day to keep the doctor away. Have you intentionally subtracted anything from your diet? No. However, can you imagine that you&#8217;d have the ability to eat everything you used to along with the new things you&#8217;ve added? No.<br />
It&#8217;s simple, and very natural, that as you consciously add more healthy foods to your daily eating routine, you&#8217;ll subtract the others. You just won&#8217;t have room for the junk anymore!<br />
You&#8217;ve gotten to a point of eating a high raw diet and you didn&#8217;t have to deprive yourself of anything! You just added in more good stuff and the not so good stuff just fell away!<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Though my daughter&#8217;s party was not 100% raw vegan, as I was cleaning up after the party, I realized that had I intended it to be all raw, it could have been!</p>
<p>My sweet daughter who just turned 6 this week is sensitive to dairy and sugar, so we already knew her party wasn&#8217;t going to be loaded with candy and goodies like many children&#8217;s parties are. We did buy lolly pops and bubble gum to go in the goody bags along with the party favors, however all of the refreshments served, minus the goldfish, were raw and none of the children noticed or cared!</p>
<p>For her tea party, we served apple juice (apparently not all children enjoy freshly brewed kombucha), and cubed fruit on toothpicks. The girls thought the little fruit hors d&#8217;oeuvre were wonderful! I&#8217;m pretty sure what did the trick was the toothpicks;e everything bite sized is more fun to eat on a toothpick!</p>
<p>For the cake and ice cream, we served on of my mint cream cakes with fudge frosting. When served slightly frozen, it is just like an ice cream cake; rich and creamy, cold and sweet. All the children loved it!</p>
<p>Had I consciously planned a raw party, we could have included maple nut clusters as finger foods instead of the goldfish and we could have foil wrapped some raw chocolates, macaroons, or truffles for the goodie bags.</p>
<p>My daughter loved her party, her friends had a great time, and none of my children were sick afterwards! I love how you can integrate raw vegan foods into social traditions like holidays and birthday parties, and it works!</p>

<p>Irish Moss is a sea vegetable, and as such is rich in minerals, protein, and other vitamins and nutrients. Many dessert recipes, including my cake recipes, call for Irish moss paste or gel.</p>
<p>Do not be intimidated by this unfamiliar ingredient. It is very easy to work with, adds a smoother texture to your food, and is virtually fat free. You can use Irish moss paste to replace a portion of the nuts in many recipes, thus lightening the texture and lowering the fat content of your food.</p>
<p>When purchasing your Irish moss, you must by the whole plant. DO NOT get the flakes or powder. They will not work the same as the whole plant.</p>
<p>To make the paste, take 3 oz Irish moss and place it in a colander. Rinse and wash the moss thoroughly. Place in 3-4 quart bowl. Cover the moss with clean water to soak overnight or at least 4</p>

<p>hours. The Irish moss will expand and triple in size, so putting it in a large bowl is necessary. After soaking, rinse the Irish moss again. You may find little bits of string and more sand. You want to make sure it is completely clean before you continue making the paste.</p>
<p>Once the moss is rinsed and clean, place it in a high speed blender like a Vita-mix, and cover with clean water. Depending on how much the Irish moss expanded, you will use about 4-6 cups of water. Blend at high speed until all the chunks, bits and pieces are gone. When the mixture is smooth, pour it into a covered container and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks, or add it to your recipe. Irish moss paste will thicken and turn into a jelly consistency as it cools. You can make Irish moss paste ahead of time and store it in the fridge for approximately 3 weeks. Use it in your cakes, pies, parfaits, smoothies, pates and more.</p>

<strong>Description: </strong>Our monthly potlucks are a wonderful opportunity to meet and socialize with like minded people, taste and experience new recipes, and renew your excitement for healthy eating!<br />
Come join us for delicious raw vegan cuisine and a mini presentation on medicinal uses of essential oils. There has been a lot of interest in our group surrounding the topic of essential oils, so I’d like to share just a bit about the basics. I’ll be teaching a more comprehensive class on essential oils the following Tuesday at 7 pm.</p>
<p>Please bring a raw vegan creation to share that will serve at least 8-12 people. As always, you are more then welcome to invite friends to come along.</p>
<p>For those who are interested, there will be freshly brewed kombucha to purchase as well as a limited amount of desserts and snacks.<br />
